The Woolly Good Rug Hooking Retreat & Festival

The Woolly Good Rug Hooking Retreat & Festival is a complete departure – a constant scaffolding of what has been and what is to come – our goal is to become The Atlantic Canadian modern heritage art festival dedicated to Rug Hooking and Annual ART destination on and off island. A modern and contemporary interpretation where heritage is cherished and change is welcome – we are intent on a fully immersive heritage and cultural experience of rug hooking at the forefront, situated seaside plein-air and in architecturally relevant buildings, where talented cutting-edge instruction focusses on showcasing Newfoundland & Labrador teachers, makers, and artists in particular – claiming their rightful place within the broader fibre arts world.

14 Full Days of Rug Hooking Bliss

Featuring a combination of two four-day retreat format (20 ppl each) led by our selected Woolly Good Artist-in-Residence and/or two-day a-la-carte classes (9 choices of up to 15 ppl ea.) including established specializations in rug hooking and the encouragement of alternate techniques and mediums. Sunrise yoga, local hiking, fireside sunsets, live music, artist talks and performances – touchpoint moments for physical, emotional and artistic release – meant to sooth, rejuvenate, and feed the soul.
